A five year old boy is lost, somewhere in Hendon’s past. A girl from another time has appeared in Hendon Library, with no memory of who she is or she got there. But what do the two have to do with each other? And what horrors await them at the end of their journeys? Heroes of Hendon is part of Grafters Gables, a unique community arts project that combines large-scale street art with historical fantasy. Based on the forgotten stories of this once prosperous area, Heroes of Hendon is a tribute to the unique character of Sunderland’s shipbuilding heartland. Grafters Gables was funded by Arts Council England, Sunderland City Council and the Community First Fund.
