ADRIAN WOODLAND - The Potentials

"On Colliery Row, wizard kids wouldn't last five minutes..."

Life sucks for 13-year-old Daniel Ambrose: his mam's gone, his dad's a gibbering mess, and his bad behaviour lands him in a class with the geeks and nerds. However, when the school decides that Daniel is underachieving because he is under-stimulated, his substitute teacher takes it upon himself to help the class achieve their potential. But, when whispered wishes are lost in translation during a classroom activity, Daniel and his unlikely sidekicks juggle the struggles of real life with their newfound superpowers while a hidden evil lurks inside the pages of every story ever told...

The Potentials is a high-stakes superhero adventure set in the Northeast, between three cities. It is dark, funny and exciting but rooted in the realities of council estate life in this uncertain world.
